About Open Doors Hawai’i: Keiki Keys

Every child deserves the key to reading.

Keiki Keys was created with a simple belief: a child’s ability to become a strong reader should not depend on their family’s ability to afford specialized support.

For children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, the right instruction can be life-changing. Yet, accessing specialized, evidence-based reading intervention can be expensive, difficult to find, and or simply out of reach for many families.

Keiki Keys exists to help change that.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to increase access to high-quality, evidence-based reading and dyslexia intervention for keiki in Hawai’i who need it most.

Through partnerships with schools, educators, families, donors, and our community, we work to bring specialized reading support directly to children- removing barriers and opening doors to a brighter future.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Access: Every child should have access to effective reading instruction.

Equity: Financial circumstances should not determine whether a child receives the help they need.

Confidence: Learning to read builds confidence, independence and possibility

Opportunity: When we give a child the tools to read, we give them tools they can carry for life.
